All about Squirrels
Find out all about Squirrels, how we treat them below...
Signs of a Squirrel problem
Squirrels are usually only a nuisance if they get in your loft, because they can damage water pipes and cables by gnawing them. They are usually active at dawn and dusk so you may hear noises at this time, sometimes the loft insulation is disturbed.
The most serious damage in urban areas arises where Grey Squirrels enter the roof spaces of houses and other buildings. Once inside they chew woodwork and ceilings, strip the insulation from electrical wiring and tear up fibreglass insulation to form a dray. Sometimes they will be found drowned in cold-water storage tanks.
Activity inside houses not only causes concern for damage but also causes disturbance to sleep and concerns about ‘attacks’ on residents. Cases of Grey Squirrels attacking people are few, but do occur. Most seem to relate to cases where the squirrels have been regularly fed and for some reason the feeding has stopped. As a consequence, the squirrel’s subsequent attempt to attract attention may involve close contact with people who are in the vicinity rather than actual attacks.
Treatment for Squirrels
It's very simple, we use specialily designed Squirrel traps with bait.

The Pesky Squirrel
Grey Squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) are rodents, having characteristic incisors that grow throughout their lives. Adults are 25-27cm long in head and body length plus a tail length of 22cm.They weigh about 500gm 16oz).
The grey squirrel is not native to Britain but was introduced from North America on several occasions between 1876 and 1929, since then it has spread throughout most of England and Wales, though it is still absent from much of Scotland. As it is highly adaptable, the Grey Squirrel is able to out compete the Red Squirrel whose habitat requirements are more specific.
Grey Squirrels build nests (drays) of leaves and twigs, or they may use tree hollows known as dens. They breed twice within a year February and March, and June and July, with the average litter size being three. In suburban gardens, much of their diet comes from food put out for birds, in rural areas they will eat a wide range of items from nuts, fruit buds and shoots to fungi, birds’ eggs and nestlings.
